Electronic minor ailments
If you are exempt from prescriptions you can register with your local pharmacy and the pharmacist can deal with medical queries either with advice, suggesting you go to your doctor or giving you a prescription. Prescription pick up from Dr’s surgeries
We pick up prescriptions within a three mile radius of the pharmacy. If you would like to set up a collection and/or collection and delivery service then contact us with your telephone number and we will deal with your request promptly.
Delivery to housebound
We realise that it is sometimes difficult to get to the pharmacy to pick up your prescription. That is why we have a dedicated van and our delivery driver Dave is delighted to deliver your prescription to your home in these circumstances.

When you consistently have high blood pressure the medical term is essential hypertension. You can prevent and control high blood pressure by taking action such as reducing your salt intake and increasing the amount of exercise you do. Diabetes awareness advice and glucose testing
According to Diabetes UK there are currently over 2.3 million people with diabetes in the UK and there are up to another 750,000 people with diabetes who have the condition and don’t know.
We provide a diabetes test which involves a finger prick of blood as a sample. The result is prepared for you during the appointment and counselling and advice given.
Head Lice Management
This is an NHS service where the pharmacist provides a prescription for head lice medication accompanied with full counselling and information to help parents tackle the infestation. Call into the pharmacy for this service.
Smoking Cessation Service
This service is called Starting Fresh and involves a 12 week course plus one week’s lying time where the participant gets ready to stop. Our pharmacists and trained assistants will counsel the client on a weekly basis. A carbon monoxide measurement is taken at week one, five and twelve and nicotine replacement patches are provided free of charge if the client is exempt from prescription charges. If not exempt, then a prescription charge is levied every 4 weeks. Call into the pharmacy for this service.
Osteoporosis Awareness Advice
Osteoporosis is a condition where the bones - particularly those of the spine, wrist and hips - become thin and weak, and break easily. Often there are no warning signs According to the World Health Organization, the prevalence of osteoporosis among US white women past menopause is estimated to be 14% in those aged 50-59 years, 22% in those aged 60-69 years, 39% in those aged 70-79 years, and 70% in those aged 80 years and older. Significant risk has been reported in people of all ethnic backgrounds. White and Asian racial groups, however, are at a greater risk.
