Anusol Plus HC Suppositories (12)
Anusol Plus HC suppositories contains hydrocortisone which reduces inflammation
Anusol Plus HC Suppositories are used to relieve the pain, swelling, itch and irritation of internal piles (haemorrhoids) and anal itching.
· They contain a number of ingredients:
· Hydrocortisone acetate is a mild steroid which helps reduce inflammation.
· Zinc Oxide and Bismuth salts are mildly astringent and antiseptic to soothe and protect raw areas.
· Balsam Peru is mildly antiseptic and has a protective action on sore areas and may help healing.
· Benzyl Benzoate has mild antiseptic properties.
The active substances are: Hydrocortisone acetate 10mg, Zinc oxide 296mg, Bismuth subgallate 59mg, Balsam Peru 49mg, Bismuth oxide 24mg and Benzyl benzoate 33mg per suppository.
Other ingredients are: Hard fat, kaolin light.
· Before you use Anusol Plus HC Suppositories:
· Do not use Anusol Plus HC Suppositories if:
· You have had a reaction to Anusol or any of its ingredients.
· You have fungal, viral or bacterial skin sores.
· Take special care with Anusol Plus HC Suppositories if:
· You have rectal bleeding. If you are in doubt whether any bleeding you have experienced is caused by piles, you should see your doctor.
· Do not use for longer than 7 consecutive days.
· Children (under 18 years): Not recommended.
· See your doctor if your symptoms worsen or do not improve.
Side-effects: Like all medicines, Anusol Ointment can have side effects. Tell your doctor if you notice any of the following:
· Sensitivity reactions such as a rash
· Mild irritation or burning on application
These are mild side-effects, which will usually stop when you stop using the suppositories. If you notice any side-effects not mentioned in this leaflet, please inform your doctor or pharmacist.
